Iguazú Falls, located on the border between Argentina and Brazil, is one of the most stunning natural wonders in the world. Below is a suggested 3-day itinerary to explore Iguazú Falls and the surrounding area.

Day 1: Arrival & Brazilian Side of the Falls
– Morning: Arrival in Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) or Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil)
– Arrive at the airport and transfer to your hotel. If you’re staying in Puerto Iguazú (Argentina), the drive to the falls is about 20-30 minutes. If you’re staying in Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil), the drive is also around 20-30 minutes.

– Mid-Morning to Afternoon: Visit the Brazilian Side of the Falls
– Entrance to the Park:*Head to Parque Nacional do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side. The park offers panoramic views of the falls, giving you a comprehensive perspective of their grandeur.
– Trail: Walk the main trail (about 1.5 km), which takes you along the edge of the canyon and offers spectacular views of the falls. The highlight is the walkway that takes you out over the water for a close-up view of the Devil’s Throat (Garganta do Diabo).
– Optional Activity: Helicopter ride over the falls (available on the Brazilian side).

– Evening: Dinner and Leisure
– Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening. Consider dining at a local restaurant to experience the regional cuisine.

Day 2: Argentine Side of the Falls
– Morning: Visit the Argentine Side of the Falls
– Entrance to the Park: Head to Parque Nacional Iguazú. The Argentine side allows you to get up close to the falls with extensive trails and walkways.
– Upper Circuit: Start with the Upper Circuit, a series of walkways that offer views from the top of the falls.
– Lower Circuit: Continue to the Lower Circuit, which provides views from below and offers a more immersive experience.
– Devil’s Throat: Take the Ecological Jungle Train to the Devil’s Throat Station. Walk along the walkway (about 1 km) to reach the viewing platform overlooking the massive Devil’s Throat, the most powerful section of the falls.

– Afternoon: Adventure Activities
– Boat Ride: Experience the thrill of a boat ride that takes you up close to some of the falls. Prepare to get soaked!

– Head back to Puerto Iguazú. Explore the town, visit the Hito Tres Fronteras (where Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay meet), and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Explore More & Departure
– Morning: Choose Your Activity
– Bird Park (Parque das Aves):If you’re on the Brazilian side, visit this incredible bird sanctuary near the entrance to the national park. It’s home to a wide variety of birds, including toucans and parrots.
– Itaipú Dam: If you’re interested in engineering, visit the Itaipú Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world, located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay.
– Guira Oga Sanctuary:*On the Argentine side, visit this wildlife rescue center that focuses on the conservation of native species.
– Optional Hike: Explore additional trails in the Argentine park, such as the Macuco Trail, for a deeper dive into the region’s flora and fauna.

– Afternoon: Departure
– Depending on your flight time, you may have some extra time to relax or explore. Transfer to the airport for your departure.

– Weather: The falls are spectacular year-round, but the best time to visit is during the shoulder seasons (March-May and September-November) for milder weather and fewer crowds.
